Who are Alpha Sign Systems?
In 1988, Alpha Sign Systems was formed with 2 originating members of staff. From small beginnings, we were soon winning major clients such as Williams F1, for whom we supplied and installed all display graphics and signage for their new museum in Didcot. During the first year, we were also appointed by Lloyds Bank Plc to fit out all of their small business centre sites in South Wales.
As a thriving new company, Alpha Sign Systems acquired a new 2700 sq ft premises in 1989 and increased staff levels to 6 in 1990.
To expand and improve our product range, Alpha Sign Systems installed a new CNC router and by 1992, had moved to a new 4500 sq ft graphics and production facility.
By 1995, Alpha Sign Systems purchased an adjacent building of 2200 sq ft, increased staff levels to 12 and launched our first corporate signage brochure. Over the next three years the company continued to develop and expand and won a Naafi refurbishment contract consisting of 86 sites and major contract with The Berkeley Group along with the purchase of a new Gerber Sabre CNC router.
At the turn of the millennium, Alpha Sign Systems increased staff levels and improved the Design Department to offer logo and corporate identity design and purchased a new Gerber Edge 2 machine to enable foil vinyl production.
By 2005, Alpha Sign Systems continued to grow and won a national contract for First Choice, installing signage across 80 UK stores in 12 weeks. During this period, Alpha Sign Systems moved to a 16000 sq ft facility and upgraded the digital print facility with a new eco-solvent printer with laminating and print to cut option.
The next three years saw Alpha Sign Systems focus on their product range and develop the house builder signage offering a complete one stop solution from site signage, way finding signage, marketing suite signage, leader board signs and stack signs. This resulted in acquiring clients such as Crosby Homes, Cala Homes, David Wilson Homes and Nicholas King Homes.
In 2008 Alpha Sign Systems were able to offer clients better products with a faster turn around after installing Europe’s First Gerber Solara ionx Wide-Format, UV Inkjet Printer. The new machine would reduce turn around time by a third and offers cationic UV inks, which are cured at room temperature to expand the range of printable substrates. The combination means that heat sensitive plastic, vinyl, fabric and paper-based materials can be printed without concern over ink adhesion or material damage.
The new machine proved succesful, resulting in Alpha Sign Systems winning additional house builder clients and working with major design agencies across the UK to produce signage and large format graphics.
Due to the increased work load, Alpha Sign Systems purchased a second flat bed printing machine in 2012.
In 2014, Alpha Sign Systems purchased a new building and refurbished to a bespoke working environment to suit.
With an ever increasing product range and clients, Alpha Sign Systems have recently purchased a new Laser Machine to offer new and exciting products to our existing client base and improve existing products.
